Universal Works

Universal Works

Universal Works was founded in Nottingham in 2008 by David Keyte — a man who grew up in a working class Midlands family that took getting dressed seriously, and spent thirty years at brands like Paul Smith and Maharishi before starting something of his own. The name says it all: clothing that works for everyone, worn anywhere.

The range draws on British workwear, military surplus, and soft tailoring — executed in quality fabrics and cut with a relaxed, unhurried ease. Key pieces include the Baker Jacket, military chinos, wool overshirts, and knitwear made in small runs by trusted factories. Sizing runs true to size with a generous, relaxed fit throughout. Clothes you look good in, as Keyte puts it.
