Remote Projects was founded in 2014 by Ross Bird in Bangalow, NSW — inspired by a solo trip through India's Andaman Islands with a 1981 military-issue canvas backpack. Every piece is made from 10oz Army Duck waxed canvas with a waterproof lining and industrial-grade hardware.
The 10-year warranty isn't a marketing line
It's a reflection of what 10oz Army Duck waxed canvas, waterproof lining and upholstery-grade thread can actually do over time. The wax coating makes the canvas water-resistant and reproofable — when it starts to wear, you can re-wax it and extend the life of the bag indefinitely. Remote Projects also donates a portion of every sale to Bush Heritage Australia.
