Five steps, and we do most of them

Submit your items
Tell us what you'd like to sell. We'll confirm what we can accept within 1–2 business days.

Drop off or ship
Bring items to 159 Hunter Street, Newcastle, or ship them to us. We inspect and grade everything on arrival.

We price, photograph and list
We agree a listing price with you, then photograph and list it on therake.com.au. Nothing to pay upfront.

It sells
We handle enquiries, payment and shipping. If a piece hasn't sold after 90 days, we'll review the price with you.

You get paid
Once the buyer's 7-day return window closes, we pay you within 3 business days, by bank transfer or store credit.
You keep the majority

Or in The Rake store credit
Our 40% commission covers photography, listing, customer service, payment processing and shipping. There's nothing to pay upfront, so we only make money when you do.
Reduced commission is available for exceptional pieces. Mention it in your enquiry.
If you want a piece back before its 90-day review, there's an A$20 fee per item to cover photography and listing.
Priced right from day one
No automatic markdowns. We price every piece carefully when it comes in and agree it with you first.
At intake
Priced on original RRP, condition and demand, and agreed with you before it's listed.
After 90 days
If it hasn't sold, we review it together: lower the price, hold it, or take it back at no cost.
Sale events
Pieces can join our seasonal sales. We'll always check with you first.
Pieces we'd be proud to stock new
If it's not something we'd sell new, we won't sell it pre-owned. Most pieces we take are graded New with tags through Very good. See how we grade.
- Premium menswear brands, New with tags through Very good condition
- Good or Vintage condition only for pieces of exceptional interest: rare, sought-after or genuinely collectable
- Minimum value of A$80 as new
- Clean, laundered and ready to photograph
- Original tags, packaging or shoe box preferred
- Damage, staining or heavy wear on everyday pieces
- Fast fashion or non-premium brands
- Swimwear, socks or underwear
